Jim Warren - Riseley Strategies Inc.

Jim Warren is the founder of Riseley Gaming Inc and Riseley Strategies Inc.

Riseley Strategies is an integrated communications, government relations and public relations consulting firm.  Mr. Warren has more than 15 years of public and corporate affairs experience in leadership positions in both the private and public sectors.

Riseley Gaming Inc. is a Toronto based developer of casino and entertainment projects. Riseley Gaming Inc. also provides strategic communications, government relations and management advice to casino and race track operators in Ontario. In 2008 Riseley Gaming (in partnership) successfully developed and won a Request for Proposals for a 20 year monopoly gaming license for the province of New Brunswick.  Mr. Warren is currently a board member and co-owner of Sonco New Brunswick which is tasked to develop, construct, finance, and operate an $87 million dollar gaming and entertainment complex. The complex will consist of a casino; a 128-room hotel; and the Palladium, a multi-purpose entertainment venue/convention facility and will be located in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Prior to founding Riseley Strategies Mr. Warren was the Vice President, Strategic Relationships at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).  Mr. Warren was responsible for relationship management issues with OLG’s key stakeholders including the media, government, community groups, private, non-profit and public sector business partners and OLG’s peer organizations around the world.  He was the head of corporate communications, government relations and the responsible gaming department.
Prior to joining OLG Mr. Warren was the communications advisor to the Premier and Ontario Cabinet, the executive arm of the Government of Ontario.  During his service as Executive Director public opinion research dramatically shifted in favour of the Premier and his Government, the difference between losing an election and winning a majority government. Mr. Warren also played a leading role with the Premier in the recent First Ministers negotiations with the Prime Minister for a new national 18 billion dollar health care deal for Canadians.

Prior to his role with the Premier Mr. Warren was the Director of Corporate Communications for Magna International Inc., a $15.6 Billion supplier of technologically advanced automotive components and systems, employing 75,000 people in 23 countries. Reporting to the President and CEO Mr. Warren served as the company’s chief spokesman and was responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of Magna International’s worldwide corporate communications strategy.

In this position, Mr. Warren had management responsibility for brand management, executive communications, media relations and public relations. In addition Mr. Warren supervised the interaction of the communications functions among three publicly traded and four wholly owned Magna subsidiaries.  Prior to joining Magna International Inc. Mr. Warren served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Director of Communications in the Office of the Mayor in the City of Toronto.

Before joining the City of Toronto, Mr. Warren worked in the Corporate Media Relations, Public Affairs and Corporate Communications Department at Canada’s largest bank,  Royal Bank of Canada.

Mr. Warren holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and is a graduate of the Canadian Securities Course. He sits on the board of Earth Day Canada and is a member of the Public Relations Seminar.
